Customer Notice: Temporary Water Discoloration

Dear Customers,

We are aware that some of you may be experiencing discolored water, and we completely understand how concerning and frustrating this can be. Please know we’re actively working to address the issue and appreciate your patience as we do so.

This temporary discoloration is related to recent adjustments in our chlorine levels. As part of our seasonal preparation for warmer weather, we’ve increased the level of monochloramine—a state-approved disinfectant—to ensure water quality is maintained throughout the summer. These levels remain well within all regulatory safety standards.

The higher chlorine levels may be scouring the inside of water lines, stirring up naturally occurring sediments and causing changes in water appearance. This is a known and temporary effect, similar to what occurred during last year’s chlorine conversion.

We are currently flushing sections of the system to help clear this up and restore normal clarity. You can also help move this process along at home by running water through your outdoor spigot or hose bib until it runs clear. This clears your service line and may improve water clarity more quickly.

While the water remains safe to use, we understand it may not look the way you expect, and we are doing all we can to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (512)932-3701 or (254)547-9430 or by email at info@kempnerwsc.com.
