Update: Water Outage & Boil Water Notice Information

January 12, 2026

Members,

This is a follow-up update regarding the concrete water line leak.  Members affected by this leak will be without water for a minimum of 24 hours and repairs could take longer depending on the extent of the damage and the availability of contractors to assist with the repair of the concrete line.  Once water service is restored, any member who experienced a loss of water pressure or water service will be required to boil their water until further notice.  An official Boil Water Notice will follow with full instructions.

We appreciate your patience as crews continue working to repair the line.  Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Sincerely,

KWSC

Boil Water Notice for Community Public Water Systems

January 12, 2026

Due to a break in the concrete transmission line, the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality has required Kempner Water Supply Corporation, 1410028, to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.).  Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.  The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers tht the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.  Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses).  You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

If you have questions concerning this matter you may contact Kempner Water Supply Corporation at (512)932-3701 or (254)547-9430 or by email at info@kempnerwsc.com.

Water Service Interruption – Area North of CR 4807

January 12, 2026

Dear Members,

A contractor has struck our concrete water line near CR 4807. As a result, all members located past CR 4807 toward Lampasas will be without water.

This outage includes:

  • The north side of our system off North FM 116
  • The north and northeast side of our system, including areas along FM 580, CR 3220, and surrounding roads

This incident is expected to affect approximately 70% of our system, so any members currently without water are likely impacted by this leak.

At this time, we do not yet know the full extent of the damage. Our crews are assessing the situation and will begin repairs as soon as possible.

We will keep you updated as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
Kempner Water Supply Corporation
